Students will edit together an action rush with pre-existing footage provided. Students will utilize various types of cuts and transitions to establish a tone and mood for their edited piece. Students will be graded on directional skill, creativity, and timely submission.
Edit: Drama/Horror Rush; Due: 10/12/21
Students will edit together either a Dramatic Rush or a Horror rush with pre-existing footage provided. Students will utilized various types of cuts and transitions to establish a tone and mood for their edited piece. Students will be graded on directional skill, creativity, and timely submission
Edit: Dialogue; Due: 10/21/21
Students will edit a scene of dialogue between two characters with pre-existing footage that will be provided or be shot in studio. Students will utilize various types of cuts and transitions to establish a tone and mood for their edited piece. Students will be graded on directional skill, creativity, and timely submission.
Edit: Sound Effects; Due: 11/2/21
Students will receive a audio-less film clip. Students must procure sound effects that would be suitable for the clip either through Royalty Free websites or original recordings. Students must then add the audio to the clip. Students will be graded on directional skill, creativity, and timely submission.
Edit: Montage; Due: 11/9/21
Students will create and edit a montage in order to create meaning to a given topic. Students will be allowed to use Royalty Free websites or procure original footage. Students will be graded on directional skill, creativity, and timely submission.
Edit: Title & Ending Credits; Due: 11/23/21
Students will be given a selected film clip and then must create an opening title sequence and a ending credit roll. Students will be graded on directional skills and timely submission
Final Exam Master Edit; Due: 12/14/21 - 12/16/21
Students will create a media piece of their choosing, using pre-existing footage, original footage, pre-existing audio/sound effects, and original audio/sound effects. Students have full creativity and choice of project and genre. They can choose a narrative short film, a short documentary, instructional video, music video, and more! The final piece must include various editing techniques, at least 3 types of cuts, 3 types of transitions, an opening title sequence, and an ending credit slate. Students will be graded on directional skill, timely submission, elements, and
