Ahh! Ok time for some fun! I have finally been around Florence for a bit and tasted as much food as possible. I know that this is a portfolio for film but the food here is just so amazing it would be unsatisfactory if I didn't post anything about the food I've tried. So I'll just post my favorites. Little thing about Italian food...it's nothing like American food. Ever. Even the "Italian" food in America is well...Americanized, what I'm sharing with you is the authentic type.
For Breakfast...most Italian's have a cup of coffee and a pastry, I settled for a Cappuccino and a chocolate pastry!
Lunch is very different in Italy, Italian's have Ciesta, where everything closes down, shops, grocery stores, markets, everything in order for Italians to enjoy a 2 hour meal and relax. I was always so use to rushing, experience a Ciesta gave me a chance to relax and enjoy the city of Florence, especially the food. Italians can enjoy a panini or a huge plate of pasta. Ciesta is considered the biggest meal of the day.
My Choice: A Ham, Mushroom, Cream Cheese and Olive Oil Sandwich.

Dinner is an amazing meal time! Not as big as Ciesta but just as important. Dinner time is family time in Italy, aside from the traditional Sunday dinner, Italians take pride in having dinner together.
Dinners normally start out with an appetizer, such as a pasta dish, or in many cases a "tester" dish, where you can test or try out different pasta.
This tester dish was from the Lorenzo De' Medici Welcome dinner. Penne in a red sauce, and bow-tie pasta in a pesto-cream sauce.

Dinners, are also divided up into courses. Course 1 and 2 then desert; it is also completely natural to only have one course. This first course from the LDM Welcome dinner was roasted chicken breast and grilled potatoes in olive oil and rosemary.
Course 2 is a little bit more sustaining and heavier than course 1, but still just as delicious!
My course 2 choice: Ravioli in a Cream- Nut Sauce.

Desert! The best part of the meal in any country hands-down!
The traditional Italian treat is Tiramisu.
Another desert favorite is Gelati, a soft-serve ice-cream in different flavors such as chocolate-peanut butter.
Italy is definitely the place to go for sights, art, history and to experience of some of the best food in the world. Everyone should definitely have a chance to travel the world and see all that it has to offer.
